Let Serve | 2012 TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships Results

The 2012 WTA Championships at Istanbul had been concluded, but as everybody expected No.3 seed Serena Williams came out on top at the expense of No.2 seed Maria Sharapova. Though she haven't ended the year ranked No.1 player of this season, but she clinched this year's huge and most coveted title, namely, the Wimbledon, the US Open, the Gold Medal at the Olympics, and most recently, the 2012 WTA Championships. Did I predicted it right? My pick for 2012 TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships Champion.

Since her sole first-round exit of her career in Grand Slam tournaments at this year's French Open, losing to Virginie Razzano, Williams has gone 31-1 with her sole defeat at the hands of Angelique Kerber in the quarterfinals of Cincinnati. Williams finished her 2012 season with 58-4 win-loss record, winning her third WTA Championships and the oldest player to do so at age 31.

LoveMatch | Surviving the Pain of Broken Relationship

Many people say that falling in love is one of the happiest things you could experience in one person's lives. I'm thinking a second thought about it, but it so happened that I get there and I'm the one to say that I tend to believe it. It is one of those experiences that you want to have once in your life. It is one of those things that you can't buy.

In my opinion, encyclopedias, archives, or any information that you can find online can't give you a definite answer what love is or how love can be defined. That maybe because people who are into it can't find any words to express or describe what the feeling is all about. But one thing is for sure, it is an indescribable feeling.

I'm interested on every one’s love stories, from their happy beginnings to their happy endings or from happy beginnings to their bitter and untold endings. I am not a love adviser or counselor, but I am curious about on what people can say about these things.

Let Serve | 2011 ATP and WTA Year-End Championship Winners

2011 TEB BNP PARIBAS WTA CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2011 edition of WTA year-end championship is quite interesting as draw is pretty wide open. Even though it is composed of four Grand Slam title holders, namely French Open Champion Li Na, Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova, US Open Champion Samantha Stosur and three-time Grand Slam titlist Maria Sharapova, every woman in the top 8 has a shot for the coveted title. With the absence of WTA dominating figure, the Williams sisters and defending champion Kim Clijsters, it is interesting too see who will emerge victorious and how fierce the competition will be with the No.1 ranking on the line.

The Wildcard | Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal: On The Lighter Side

I was surfing the net and as usual looking for some latest updates about the 2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. I went to Tennis.com to look for some latest news as its article entitled The Fan Wars caught my attention.

It headlined: Roger and Rafa engage in a friendly rivalry, but the same can't be said for their devoted fan bases. Steve Tignor and Kamakshi Tandon discuss the most familiar and most inexhaustible topic in tennis.

I clicked the link of the article in its front page and it directed me to the article entitled The Rally: Those Guys Again to read the content of the intriguing headline. To my surprise, I enjoyed reading the whole story.

Let Serve | 2010 BNP Paribas Masters Results

The final ATP Masters 1000 event is over. The faster and slicker court at Palais Omnisports in Bercy produced some stunning upsets and great matches were on display, which includes the drama. Now that players a left Paris by displaying great tennis, they are heading into London for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, the conclusion of ATP 2010 season.

With the absence of Rafael Nadal, defending champion and No.2 seed Novak Djokovic was on the course of strong showing in Bercy after he failed to defend his title in Basel. But the No.2 seed wasn't able to sustain such kind of performance in Basel as he was stunned by local talent Michael Llodra in front of his home supporters.

Having said that, the BNP Paribas Masters title was handled by different hands since 1972. Only Arthur Ashe able to defend the Paris title, winning it in back-to-back years, 1970-1971. Former world No.1s, Boris Becker and Marat Safin won this event three times. Did I predicted it right? My pick for BNP Paribas Masters Champion.

The HawkEye | Converting Word Documents to PDF Files

I was assigned to process Word documents and convert them into PDF files. But due to a large number of files, it is very tedious for me to do it one by one and manually. There’s no problem doing it manually, but considering the time constraints, it is not recommended to do it most especially when I am beating the deadline.

Since I have knowledge in programming using Visual Basic, I can develop a simple interface in order to process such task automatically. It is indeed a brilliant idea as it will benefit our department a lot, most especially with regard to delivering the service in a small span of time. The main problem was I don’t know where to start. Given the idea is there, I just need a simple planning before going deep into its technical aspects.

Let Serve | 2010 BNP Paribas Masters Preview

NOTE: This is my own version of draw analysis on 2010 BNP Paribas Masters. In this self-version of draw analysis, I will pick who I think will be 2010 BNP Paribas Masters Champion.

The Palais Omnisports in Bercy is set for the ninth and final ATP World Tour Masters 1000 of the year with nine of the top 10 are vying to win the prestigious title. This event will also decide who will be qualified in the ATP World Tour Finals in London with three remaining spots.

World No.1 Rafael Nadal withdrew from this event citing medical reasons, therefore world No.2 Roger Federer will benefit that withdrawal to be awarded as the top seed, followed by 2009 BNP Paribas Masters champion Novak Djokovic, who topped local hope Gael Monfils in last year's finale. With Nadal's absence, can Djokovic successfully defend his title in French capital after he failed to defend his title at Davidoff Swiss Indoors in Basel, Switzerland losing to Federer 4-6|6-3|1-6?

The HawkEye | Searching Records Using Excel Functions

This is my very first post discussing about the technical side of me. As I work on database maintenance, data manipulation, data analysis, and others on different kinds of data, it gives me an idea to share this kind of stuff.

I've been using Microsoft Office Excel for about 10 years and my knowledge about using its features as well as its functions have been improved since the very first time I work on records using the spreadsheet application.

For every moment, I tried to analyze and/or manipulate small or large amount of data, I've learned new things on how things are going on. Data analysis, more often than not, is one of the few things I am more knowledgeable. From producing relevant statistics to designing a valuable report, I am very much keen on every single detail that must be displayed in the output.

Let Serve | 2010 Rogers Cup - Men's Results

The 2010 Rogers Cup staged another season filled with scintillating tennis. After the history-making Wimbledon episode, most of the top 20 players entered in this event to be part of the tune-up for the upcoming 2010 US Open.

Rafael Nadal, the new world No.1 and two-time Wimbledon champion, is the top seed followed by No.2 seed Novak Djokovic. Roger Federer, the new world No.3 as the result of his two quarterfinal finishes in both French Open and Wimbledon, is the No.3 seed. Defending Rogers Cup champion Andy Murray is the No.4 seed, completes the list to lead the field.

Will Murray be able to defend his title, after his disappointing loss at Wimbledon? Did I predicted it right? My pick for Men's Champion.

Let Serve | 2010 Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open Results

Cincinnati Open, one of the tune-up events heading to 2010 US Open was over and this year's edition hasn't been so kind to top players. Why? With great matches was on display, top contenders for the title suffered an early exit. Will these upsets contribute a slight damage in their campaign at Flushing Meadows?

Top seed and defending champion Jelena Jankovic, No.2 seed Caroline Wozniacki, No.6 seed Vera Zvonareva, and No.7 seed Agnieszka Radwanska bowed out in the third round, while No.3 seed Elena Dementieva and No.5 seed Francesca Schiavone have been beaten in their opening match. Leaving the draw wide open and giving No.4 seed Kim Clijsters an easy passage for the title. Did I predicted it right? My pick for Women's Champion.

LoveMatch | When Simple, Good Life, Go Wrong

It's been almost two years that I'm struggling financially. But as day goes by, I can see glimpse of hope that I can hold on and gives me enough strength to live life in simple way. But things still haven't change with what I'm struggling about. Honestly, I don't know how to manage financial matters as more often than not, I'm messing it. There'll be times or should I say most of the times, I have zero balance in my savings and nothing left for myself. It's hard to continue that daily life living when I know I have something to settle and I have nothing.

With such struggles, I never lose hope that one day I'll live life back to its simplicity, the life that I once owned and enjoyed. But some people say, "when it rains, it pours", seems like true. It would be okay if it's blessings but if it's problems you have nothing to do but cry.

Enjoy It. Share It.
